The GroupNautika story

The journey of GroupNautika began in 1987 when Capt. Shafiq Bhuiyan, a Master Mariner decided to leave his decorated seagoing career to start a marine survey and consultancy firm called Tristar Surveys Limited in Chattogram, Bangladesh. Later he established two more companies, Marine Electronics Service and Seasafe, which were formed to address the growing needs of technical support services for the commercial shipping market in Bangladesh. Over the course of time, GroupNautika has grown to become a group of multidimensional companies with presence in four countries and multiple business verticals.

Capt. Shafiq Bhuiyan

Chairman

Capt. Shafiq Bhuiyan is a veteran stalwart in the Bangladesh Maritime industry. Starting his professional career with Bangladesh Shipping Corporation right after the War of Independence, he has contributed over 49 years of his life to the development of maritime sector in Bangladesh, as a Master Mariner, Ship Charterer, Marine Surveyor and Consultant and an Educator. Outside work, he devotes most of his time on social welfare activities and charitable causes. He is an active member of numerous social organisations and has achieved many awards and accolades for his service in this cause.

Taufiq Omar Hasan

Managing Director

Taufiq Omar Hasan is a seasoned professional in the maritime technical services industry with over 12 years of experience in the industry. Taufiq holds extensive knowledge in the field of maritime navigation and communication systems, maritime and industrial safety, tactical and critical communications.

Mushfiq Khalid Hasan

Finance Controller

Mushfiq Khalid Hasan is a finance professional, with 10 years’ experience of working in the steel and maritime industry. With a background in Finance and Marketing, he has also been involved in the marketing and distribution of Maritime and Industrial Safety equipment in Bangladesh. He is a supporter to the cause of improved workplace safety, and works closely with industrial health & safety professionals to promote the cause.
